What is a reservation retainer?
A reservation retainer reserves time on my calendar for our shoot and is applied on to your session.

What if my dog doesn’t like the camera?
Every new experience can be a bit intimidating, especially when it comes to getting your portrait taken! But don't fret - at the beginning of every session, I make sure to take the time to get to know your pup and for them to get used to my camera gear. This way, they'll become familiar with everything and feel comfortable in no time flat. Now if only we could ensure that perfect smile for every photo!
My dog isn’t well trained.
Working with dogs doesn't always require basic obedience skills or fun training. After all, I have tricks up my sleeve – such as tasty treats – that instantly grab their attention. Without needing too much basic practice, I've had successful sessions with dogs of various training levels. So don't hold back on taking that first step – there's nothing like making doggy friends and giving them all the loving!
My dog can’t be off leash. Can I still do the session?
Absolutely! Keeping your dog safe is the top priority. Leashes are the perfect way to make sure that your dog stays in one place and doesn’t run off into the unknown. Not only do leashes provide safety but they are also great tools for making it easier to direct the dog in whatever activity you choose. Wooftografie offers complimentary basic leash removal so that your dog can interact with their new environment without having to worry about being tied down—what a relief!
Can my dog wear a harness or gentle leader?
Photoshop is an incredibly useful tool for editing photos, but harnesses and gentle leaders prove to be quite the challenge when it comes to digital manipulation!
A harness may hide some parts of your dog's chest, making it difficult to fully restore the pixels back in post-production. Those gentle leaders can also leave behind unsightly shadows or pull on your pup's skin in undesired ways - almost as if they were mocking us! So, if you plan on harnessing up your pup for a photoshoot, I'd recommend bringing along an unadorned collar in case your pet gets camera shy. That way, no matter what happens while we snap away, you'll still be able to capture that perfect moment with Fido.
My dog is reactive to other dogs/people/bicycles/cars. How can we do a session?
Let's choose a location that suits your pup's needs and temperament, so there will be minimal dog or foot traffic to disrupt our session. That way, we can make sure the session is totally stress-free and low key. If there are concerns about being in a public place, then I'm more than happy to offer the additional option of renting out a private space for just us at a very small cost. Let's get the perfect pictures of your pup within the perfect setting!
What if my dog is a never-ending ball of energy?
Taking pictures of energetic, high-energy dogs can be quite the challenge - it's almost like trying to capture lightning in a bottle! Fortunately, my camera has a shutter speed that goes up to 1/8000 of a second - fast enough to really lock down on those super active puppies! I'm talking about visually freezing time for crisp and clear photos of energetic dogs.
Can I be in the photo, too?
Your pup is definitely the star of the show. However, if you would also like to be in a few shots, I'm all for documenting the beautiful connection between you and your dog! Whether it's a classic portrait of you both flashing your pearly whites or a more candid approach at the camera - we can capture memories full of love and laughter that will last a lifetime.
What time will our session be?
Depending on the location, the most magical light for photography happens during the “golden hour”. However, urban areas with lots of activity during the evening are better better suited for morning sessions, when we can still take advantage of the lovely low-angle light.
How do I choose a location?
It’s a big decision, but I’m here to help with plenty of recommendations. We’ll discuss the look you’re after, any special needs your dog might have (mobility challenges, anxiety, etc) and scheduling constraints on your part (e.g morning only) during our session-planning. With all that in mind, we’ll settle on the perfect location for your custom session.
What if it’s raining?
Ahh, the weather... it can be so unpredictable. While we'd all love a beautiful day for our photography session, sometimes Mother Nature doesn't cooperate. But that's OK! We'll keep in touch leading up to your planned shoot and see what the weather is doing. If, unfortunately, it turns out that the weather isn't ideal for our plans, no worries whatsoever - we'll go ahead and reschedule for a date when the weather looks better – don’t sweat it! And no extra fees either—your reservation retainer comes with us on our rain check whenever it lands. So let's not let bad weather ruin our good time - let's just roll with whatever Mother Nature gives us!
Do digitals come with my session?
Watermarked social media-sized digitals are provided for all purchased products.
As the photographer, I retain full copyright and ownership of all images.
What if I need to cancel the session?
24-hour notice sounds like an agreement between two unstoppable forces—sometimes, things come up that we can't control and we need to prepare for them. But don't fret, 24-hour notice to reschedule your session gives us plenty of time to maneuver around life's surprises. So if something unexpectedly comes up, 24-hour notice gives us a chance to catch our breath, re-strategize, and move forward without missing a beat.
Do you travel for photo sessions?
Yes, I am absolutely open to travel for dogs! Whether you want to take a leisurely stroll around the block or an adventurous weekend road trip, let's discuss how two, four (or even more!) legs can inhabit a single journey. Even if you are not sure how your furry companion might enjoy travel the most, don't worry: explore with me and discover what options we have - there's a good chance your pup will love it!
